Chrome Web Store disclosure
Extension data privacy summary (for Google Chrome Web Store review)
The statements below satisfy Chrome Web Store data privacy disclosure requirements for the Chilview extension (Violation reference: Purple Nickel). They describe collection, handling, storage, and sharing in plain language.
1. Data collection
Chilview is designed to minimize personal data. We do not collect, request, or retain:
- Names, phone numbers, government identifiers, or payment card numbers inside the extension;
- Amazon Seller Central, Vendor Central, or any Amazon FBA store login credentials, passwords, or session tokens;
- Browsing history, search history, or a record of websites you visit outside the active Amazon product pages where Chilview displays insights;
- Precise geolocation, contacts, photos, files, or other sensitive Chrome permission classes.
Email addresses are collected only if you voluntarily subscribe to the Chilview Seller Brief (newsletter) and provide consent. If you do not subscribe, no newsletter email is collected.
Product-level figures shown in the extension (for example, public Amazon list prices or sales rank on a page you are already viewing) are read from the page you opened locally and are not treated as personal information about you. Chilview may process product-level analytics (such as ASIN, price, sales rank, Buy Box signals, and offer counts) for research features and optional cloud sync of those product metrics.
2. Optional newsletter signup
Chilview may offer an optional newsletter signup inside the extension or on getchilview.com. If you choose to subscribe and provide your email address, that email is used only to send Chilview product updates, Amazon seller tips, and related Founder offers you opted into.
Newsletter signup is voluntary. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting [email protected].
We do not use newsletter email addresses for advertising networks, data brokers, or unrelated third-party marketing.
3. Data handling and storage
Chilview operates natively and locally inside your browser. Extension preferences, alert thresholds,
calculator inputs, cached price history, trial state, and UI state are stored primarily in your device's localized
browser storage environment (chrome.storage.local and related extension storage APIs).
Localized extension data remains on your device under your control. When you remove the extension, disable it, or clear extension data through Chrome settings, localized Chilview data is deleted from your browser environment.
When you use entitlement, trial, or optional sync features, Chilview may communicate with Chilview backend services (including Supabase-hosted endpoints) using product-level and session/device identifiers needed to operate those features. Optional newsletter emails are processed through Chilview's newsletter provider only after you consent.
4. Data sharing
Chilview does not sell, trade, rent, license, or otherwise share personal data with third parties, data brokers, advertisers, or affiliates for their own marketing.
Service providers that help us operate Chilview (for example, hosting, entitlement/trial backend services, optional newsletter delivery, or Stripe payment processing on getchilview.com when you choose to purchase) receive only the information needed to perform those services. Optional checkout flows on getchilview.com are governed separately by Stripe's payment processing and are initiated only when you choose to purchase access on the website.
